Are you doing Facebook right?

The growth in businesses joining Facebook is on an upward curve. If you’ve recently taken the initiative and set up Facebook, then take a moment to ensure you’ve setup a business page to promote your business and NOT a personal profile using your business name.

Personal profiles are for people, not businesses.

This is direct from Facebook help pages:

“Facebook profiles must represent an individual. Users aren’t permitted to maintain an account under the name of their organization, or use personal accounts to advertise or promote themselves professionally.

Further, maintaining a profile for anything other than an individual person is a violation of Facebook’s Statement of Rights and Responsibilities. If you don’t convert your profile to a Page, you risk permanently losing access to the profile and all of your content.”

If you’ve set up your business on Facebook as a personal profile, then today is the day to fix it and changeover to a business page!

You can either setup a new business page under your existing login and change your personal profile to your name and not your business name. OR if you only want to be on Facebook for business purposes, then you need to transition to a business account.

The quick fix is to use Facebook’s ‘Profile To Business Page Migration’ tool which will help transition your personal profile to a business page so you’re friends become your followers.
