Your website is valuable property. And you should always know what is happening with your property.
If you owned an investment property you’d be able to choose between managing it yourself or having an expert property manager to do it for you. It’s the same with your website. You can manage it yourself or you can have an expert assistant or website company do it for you.
With the investment property example, even if you have a property manager do it for you, you’d still keep a close watch on what’s happening with your property and you’d likely even keep a set of keys on you.
The same applies with your website. You should keep a close watch on what’s happening and you should also keep a set of keys. However in this case a set of keys means knowing how to access every area of your website and online presence, should you ever need to.
This may include keeping a safe & secure record of all details regarding your domain name, your hosting, your website and your social media, including supplier and log in details.
So my tip for today is to check if you have all this information and to create a safe and secure system for managing and storing this very important data.
