Google Analytics website conversion tracking

Google Analytics is a statistics tracking service offered by Google that allows any website owner to track advanced statistics for their website. It offers both simple and advanced tracking functionality so you can view simple website statistics like number of visitors and where your website visitors came from, through to advanced segmenting and ecommerce website and conversion tracking.

I’ve recently started using Google Analytics to track my own website statistics after year’s of using the simple website statistics available from awstats. I’ve made the switch so that I can maximise what is being tracked and use the information to help make decisions and ultimately maximise my website results.

To get you started I’ve included below an introductory video from the Google Analytics University. You may also like to view the Google Analytics product tour.

If you are keen to really advance your knowledge of Google Analytics so that you can really use your website statistics to maximise your business website results then I suggest you check out the Google Conversion University. The Google Conversion University offers a series of tutorials and lessons allowing you to work through them at your own page.

And best of all both Google Analytics and the Conversion University are entirely free to use and benefit from.
